This kitchen was designed
for a straw bale wall house I built for a client in
central Texas in 2009. See below for the original SketchUp file that was
used to design and build the kitchen, and a photo movie of the finished
kitchen "as built":
Google's SketchUp was used
as the 3D design tool of choice as the software's features made it
feasible to collaborate remotely with the client via e-mail for design
decisions and changes. Posting a screen capture of the SketchUp file on
youtube, as above, also proved to be more convenient than mailing an ever
increasing, in size, file of the model as design changes were suggested by the
client.
Above is a video photo
montage of the completed kitchen, "as built", from the SketchUp design.
Dining Room Hutch (free standing)
One of the
striking features in the kitchen mentioned above was the built-in "kitchen hutch". Shortly after the
SketchUp design
for the above kitchen was completed, I was commissioned by the mother of the
client to build a free standing version for her dining room, as seen above.
A 3D SketchUp model of the free standing version can be seen
here.
Additional
photo's of the building of the free standing version, as seen above, can be seen
here.
